Just showing a couple of welds on the cross braces. When these cross braces are in, I can still roll the rotisserie over without them hitting the rotisserie.

I wanted to show you a picture of the leather apron I use for welding. My son-in-law gave it to me a couple of years ago and I never used it. About 6 months ago I got burned pretty good on the front of me just below the belly button and now I always wear it.
I center-punched the spot welds and drilled some 1/8" holes.
This is a regular drill bit that I sharpened into kind of a flat-bottomed bit. I left a little point in the center to help guide it. I didn't dress the grinding wheel to do a really good job on it, but it works. I didn't have too much success going from a 1/8 to a 7/16 so I used a drill in between the two, that kept the flat bottomed drill from flying all over. I have a picture coming up of the three drill bits.
