Just another picture, I'm not going to say anymore.

I used masking tape to hold my little clamps, then I went around to the backside of the car and put the little backing blocks in there. If I was 12 feet tall, I would have just reached right on over the top.

Showing the welding clamps in place and also the masking tape on the right side. I'm going to have to weld up half of some of these holes because they will stick out from my support. When I put the old piece back in, I didn't get it centered right. I know a good body man would just shake his head over this. I made mistakes and wound up doing it the hard way but maybe you can learn something from this. The bottom line is.......these supports will have a definite edge and will be flush and look really nice. Just a lot of extra work that I probably didn't need to do.

I thought I had a clear picture of this chisel that I rounded the end off pretty blunt, and I find it easier to bend the metal with that little chisel than trying to swing a pick hammer or something else.

One side is all welded up and the other side is all spot welded in. Now all I have to do is finish welding the one side, then I will grind the welds down quite a bit, then pound down any high spots with a dolly behind it, the bride doesn't know it yet..but she's going to be on the other end of that dolly. (Wrong!!) Then I'll finish grinding the welds nice and smooth. I don't know if anyone noticed it, but the very center of the new floor pans lined up really nice with the old floor pan.
