This is our pitiful side. We've had peas for the freezer and they are done now. Ate a bunch of radishes and green onions. Dug a few potatoes, got a lot of cucumbers and the tomatoes are getting ripe. Got to check the corn and see how much longer before we can eat some..it's doing good. We also have some strawberries on the other side of the corn that were pretty tasty.
This is our side all left of the white buckets, taken from the roof of the garage. Ours is 30x55.
This shows the Hmong gardens. The whole area inside the white buckets is 70x82. The white buckets are for putting stones, etc. as well as weeds in to take off the garden. There are 5 Hmong ladies who garden the four plots. One has a mother and daughter in one plot. Our garden will be given to them to use so each one has a garden next spring. We measure out the plots and stake/string the sections for them right after it's tilled so they can plant as soon as they want. The 8 sprinklers are set so they will water the whole garden area with some overlap. And we use one hose from the well point to hook up to each sprinkler at the well point end of the garden. We lay out 16 permanent sections of hose that will reach from each sprinkler to the edge of the garden. That way we don't have to drag any hose through the plants. The bricks you see hanging from the sprinklers are to weight the sprinkler down so the wind doesn't blow it over. They are fairly lightweight.
